Projects In Our Communities

GUNNISON

Upper Gunnison Natural Resource Library

SDSG is playing a leadership role in establishing a cooperative venture among federal agencies such as the United States Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, regional and local agencies such as the Upper Gunnison Water Conservancy District and Gunnison Counties, and educational and research institutions such as the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory and Western State College, for establishment of a joint online data base of regional scientific and technical information about natural resources and environment. See Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District Document Archive.

Nick Heller, Project Coordinator

The Gunnison Basin Natural Resource Library is an effort to assemble research, data, and studies on the Gunnison Basin area; convert this information into a searchable electronic format; and make this information easily accessible to researchers, students, and the general public on the web. The key to making good decisions about our natural resources is good information in the hands of government, interested private parties and the general public. We intend this project as a modest contribution to better decision-making and better management of our region’s unsurpassed natural resources.

 Energy Efficient Affordable Housing

SDSG will help to convene nonprofit, governmental, and private sector participants in a planning process for developing an environmentally sound affordable housing project that incorporates advanced use of energy conservation and renewable energy.
