SDSG’s Project Database Will Be Coming Soon!
SDSG has conducted a stocktake of the legal frameworks across three jurisdictions and of publicly known projects planned or currently taking place in these same jurisdictions. The resulting project database so far includes projects in Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Indonesia, and focuses specifically on community consultation processes, benefit-sharing, and grievance mechanisms. Found here are 125 individual carbon projects across these areas. We collected a variety of universal information that can be used to identify and categorize these projects. Of the 125 carbon projects included in SDSG’s Project Tracker database, 120 do not have publicly available Benefit Sharing Agreements while for the five that do, we have been unable to verify whether the public documents for four of them correspond to the contract signed by communities.
